Kramat Jati Sub-district Targets to Serve 150 Elderly for Booster Vaccination

Total 150 elderly residents were targeted to get booster vaccination at Kramat Jati Sub-district Health Center, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/12). The kick-off of booster vaccination service was opened by Ministry of Health's Disease Prevention and Control Acting Director General (Plt), dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu.

On the first day of booster vaccination service, people are very enthusiastic

Booster vaccination service was held in four tents built in parking area of sub-district health center. This vaccination can be obtained by residents of Kramat Jati and other surrounding sub-districts, such as Makasar, Cipayung, and Pasar Rebo.

Kramat Jati Sub-district Health Center Head, Inda Mutiara stated, on the first day of booster vaccination service, her side provided 150 doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.

"On the first day of booster vaccination service, people are very enthusiastic. Not only Kramat Jati residents, but there are also residents from other sub-districts. We serve all of them well," she mentioned.

According to her, people who are prioritized to get booster vaccination are elderly. However, other residents who meet the criteria could also get booster vaccine, namely have been fully vaccinated (2 doses) and have PeduliLindungi application. The second dose vaccination must have been administered within minimum period of six months.

"Every day we deploy 16 health workers because apart of booster vaccination, we also provide vaccination for general public and children aged 6-11 years," she said.

She explained that booster vaccine administered based on the primary vaccines. If the first and second vaccines use AstraZeneca, then booster vaccine is Moderna. If the first and second vaccines use Sinovac, then booster vaccine is either Pfizer or AstraZeneca, but the dose is only half.

Tati Risnawati (72), one of residents who was administered booster vaccine admitted that she used Sinovac for the first and second vaccines. Therefore for booster vaccine, she was vaccinated using Pfizer.

"I came here because I received invitation from PeduliLindungi. Thank God, the process is easy and fast. I just need to show invitation in the application," she said.

Meanwhile, Wahyutiningsih (66), resident of Kalisari, Pasar Rebo admitted that she was still served although she didn't receive invitation on PeduliLindungi application. She conveyed that she knew about booster vaccination service at this health center from TV news.

"Even though the location is far from my house, it doesn't matter. What is important is for health and preventing exposure to COVID-19," she asserted.
