Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of January 19

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of January 19.

It should be underlined that 2,110 people from the number of active cases are foreign travelers

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, the number of active cases in Jakarta today increased by 627 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 4,924 (people who are still being treated/isolated).

"It should be underlined that 2,110 people from the number of active cases are foreign travelers. As for new positive cases based on the results of the PCR test today increased by 1,012 people, bringing a total of 873,104 cases, of which 267 were foreign travelers," she explained, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Wednesday (1/19).

Seeing this case, she called on the public to be aware of the transmission of the Omicron Variant virus, which is now also increasing in Jakarta. Of the 988 infected people, 663 people were international travelers, while the other 325 were local transmissions.

Meanwhile, 3T efforts continue to be intensified, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccination which is also still ongoing with a wider scope. Based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 17,424 specimens. 17,249 of them were to diagnose new cases with 1,012 positive and 16,237 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 38,867 were tested, with 327 positive results and 38,540 negative results.

She furthered the WHO test target is 1,000 people tested by PCR per million populations per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is a minimum of 10,645 people tested per week. "This target has been surpassed by Jakarta for some time. The number of people tested last week has reached 111,352, while 757,372 people have undergone the PCR tests," she added.

Of these cases, 854,589 people were cured with a cure rate of 97.9% and 13,591 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.6%, while Indonesia's death rate was 3.4%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 4.0%, while Indonesia was 10.8%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 12,078,484 people (119.8%), with a proportion of 71% being residents of Jakarta and 29% were non-residents of Jakarta. Then the number of people being vaccinated in a 1-day dose as many as 7,234 people. The total vaccination dose 2 now reached 9,559,891 people (94.8%), with a proportion of 72% being residents of Jakarta and 28% were non-residents of Jakarta. The number of people being vaccinated in the 2-day dose as many as 51,851 people.

As for the third dose (booster) vaccination was also carried out. The update total third dose was 188,245 people and the number of people who get vaccinated with the 3-day dose was 24,234  people.

Based on the daily reports on January 18, there had been a total fine of Rp 1,250,000 from the raid results during PPKM Level 2 period against residents without masks, restaurants, food stalls, and cafes, as well as in offices, workplaces, and places of business.

To get vaccine, residents can go to the vaccination site. However, to speed up vaccination, they must register online via JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, they may choose the schedule and place of vaccination themselves, as well as being able to pre-screening online test.
