"We gathered in this place because our families in different location experienced a natural disaster. Earthquake is a natural disaster beyond human control and our brothers and sisters in West Pasaman experienced it. The location of earthquake is far from Jakarta, but the sadness was felt in the capital city," he said in his remarks as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Wednesday (3/1).

He assessed that sending Task Force was a form of solidarity. Therefore, members of the Task Force will later represent the Jakarta Government, Jakarta residents, and fellow countrymen to help the earthquake victims in West Pasaman.

"Our brothers and sisters are experiencing the impacts and today we want to show our solidarity. You will go there on behalf of the Jakarta Government and all Jakarta residents go there to help ease their burden, fill the shortage. God willing, our families and relatives in West Pasaman will be able to recover and return to their normal lives," he conveyed.

"While on assignment, every time you meet people, remember that we are here to help them. Do it wholeheartedly and thoroughly. Go to them, do what can be done and lighten their days. I represent citizens of Jakarta and Jakarta Government, as well as my fellow countrymen," he added.

He also advised Task Force members on duty to leave a positive impression and help the victims to overcome various problems related to earthquake disaster.

He hoped that a positive and conducive feeling and atmosphere could emerge, thus speeding up their recovery process.

"In every interaction, leave a positive and pleasant impression, never bring any negative feelings. If there are complaints at disaster site, you could answer 'I represent to resolve what is being complained of'," he expressed.

"If someone says 'thank you, people from Jakarta have came, but other places have not', then answer 'I represent another place that you didn't mention', say 'I represent them' thus we realize that our presence represents all and it builds a positive and conducive atmosphere," he stated.
