Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of March 8

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of March 8.

937,243 people have undergone the PCR tests

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, the number of active cases in Jakarta today decreased by 668 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 28,064 (people who are still being treated/isolated).

"Meanwhile, 3T efforts continue to be intensified, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccination which is also still ongoing with a wider scope," she expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (3/8).

Based on the latest data, the PCR tests had been carried out on 29,966 specimens. 26,370 of them were to diagnose new cases with 3,569 positive and 22,801 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 54,808 were tested, with 2,216 positive results and 52,592 negative results.

She furthered the WHO test target is 1,000 people tested by PCR per million populations per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is a minimum of 10,645 people tested per week. "This target has been surpassed by Jakarta for some time. The number of people tested last week has reached 210,645, while 937,243 people have undergone the PCR tests," she added.

Of these cases, 1,161,139 people have been cured with a cure rate of 96.4% and 14,852 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.2%, while Indonesia's death rate was 2.6%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 12.1%, while in Indonesia was 12.1%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 12,416,768  people (123.1%), with a proportion of 70% was residents of Jakarta and 30% were non-residents of Jakarta. Then the number of people being vaccinated in a 1-day dose is as many as 1,852 people. The total vaccination dose 2 now reached 10,443,986 people (103.6%), with a proportion of 72.8% was residents of Jakarta and 27.2% were non-residents of Jakarta. The number of people being vaccinated on the 2-day dose was 2,524 people.

As for the third dose (booster) vaccination was also carried out. The updated total third dose was 1,508,032 people and the number of people who get vaccinated with the 3-day dose was 36,447 people. 

On the other hand, the Jakarta administration continues to provide isolation beds and ICU beds in handling COVID-19. Until March 6, 2022, of the 140 hospitals that treat COVID-19, for isolation beds of 6,619, the percentage of occupancy was 29% with a total of 1,914 isolated patients. As for 966 ICU beds, the percentage of occupancy was 40% with a total of 390 ICU patients.

Based on the daily reports on March 7, there had been a total fine of Rp 950,000 from the raid results during PPKM Level 3 period against residents without masks.

To get the vaccine, residents can go to the vaccination site. However, to speed up vaccination, they must register online via the JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, they may choose the schedule and place of vaccination themselves, as well as being able to pre-screening online tests.
