Latest Data on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of March 12, 2022

The Jakarta Government continues to control the COVID-19 pandemic in the capital city. Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, the number of active cases in Jakarta today declined by 2,283 cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 23,081 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).

"People should be aware of Omicron variant transmission which is on the rise in Jakarta. While COVID-19 vaccination is still proceeding with a broader scope, 3T should be intensified," she said according to a press release issued by Jakarta PPID on Saturday (3/12).

Data from Jakarta Health Agency mentioned that from a total of 25,313 PCR specimens, 22,022 people had been tested today to diagnose new cases which resulted in 2,105 positive and 19,917 negative cases.

Antigen test was also carried out today on 29,704 people with 1,299 positive and 28,405 negative results. Please note that positive antigen results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all of them were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 1,178,124 people recovered with a recovery rate of 96.9% and 14,921 people died with a mortality rate of 1.2%. While the mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.6%.

On the other hand, the WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.

"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 186,002 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 946,810 per million population," she added.

The positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 11.8%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 12.1%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination program is still continued. First dose vaccines had been given to 12,425,665 people (123.2%) with a proportion of 70.1% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 29.9% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 2,329 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today.

The second dose vaccines had been given to 10,465,564 people (103.8%) with a proportion of 73% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 27% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. Of that amount, 4,667 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.

The third dose (booster) vaccine had been given to 1,625,558 people as of today. Of that amount, 28,718 people had been injected with third dose vaccines today.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanctions for anyone who doesn't wear a mask and violate health protocols and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on the daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on March 11, 2022, Satpol PP had conducted a mask operation and collected Rp 1,750,000 in fine. Hopefully, all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Government advised people who want to be vaccinated to go directly to the vaccination site. In a faster way, people can register online through the JAKI app or corona.Jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, people can choose the time and place of vaccination, as well as to conduct online health pre-screening tests.

Vaccination sites can be checked through the google maps app. Only by writing 'vaksin COVID-19', people can get information about vaccination site locations and how to get there.
