The World Bank stated their readiness to assist Jakarta Provincial Government in drafting city’s development strategies within the next ten years. Such assistance is outlined in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama and World Bank Vice President for East Asia and Pacific Axel Van Trotsenburg, at City Hall, Monday (12/8).
Starting January, the World Bank will help setting the strategies with a vision of Jakarta that is modern and well arranged
According to Ahok, this strategies drafting is very helpful for Jakarta Provincial Government in getting solutions over various problems existing in Jakarta and realizing the New Jakarta.
“Starting January, the World Bank will help setting the strategies with a vision of Jakarta that is modern and well arranged. At least, World Bank could assist Jakarta Provincial Government in facing demographic bonus in 2025,” he stated.
Basuki Admits ICW Research Regarding KJP AbuseAhok admitted that he is pleased for the assistance rather than sending civil servants (PNS) for a comparative study to the World Bank.
“I always said to them (civil servants) that I don’t want stupid ways like the old times. Go and do comparative studies are not necessarily successful. Why not use the World Bank, which already experienced, to come here (Jakarta),” he uttered.
