Indonesia All Star U-20 played out a goalless draw against Barcelona U-18 at International Youth Championship (IYC) 2021 held at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, Wednesday (4/13) night.
Even though it a was a goalless draw, the match was very interesting
In the match which started at 21:30, both teams appeared to attack each other with a very high tempo.
Nine minutes passed when Barcelona U-18 launched an attack from Iban Javier Cuadrado Alonso, but it was caught by Indonesia All Star goalkeeper Ahludz Dzikri Fikri.
Indonesia All Star also counterattacked, even almost scored a goal. In the 26th minute, Ahmad Athallah's a hard kick from outside the penalty box headed towards the goal, but it was caught by Barcelona U-18 goalkeeper Aaron Alonso Rodriguez.
In the 43rd minute, the Indonesia All Star again made an opportunity to score a goal. But then Fajar Fathur Rahman's shot missed until the end of the first half with a score of 0-0.
Entering the second half, Indonesia All Star continued to attack Barcelona U-18. In the 53rd minute, Brylian Negiehta Dwiki failed to score from the penalty box since it was saved by Aaron Alonso Rodriguez.
Barcelona U-18 had trouble facing attacks from Muhammad Fajar Fathur Rahman and his colleagues who fearlessly collided physically to fight for the ball.
The game was closed with a score of 0-0. Indonesia All Star Head Coach Ilham Romadhona admitted that he was grateful that his team was able to complete the task well so they could hold the Barcelona U-18 team to a goalless draw.
He considered the match was running at a very high tempo and both sides attacked each other. Thanks to the good and neat defense shown by his team, the Barcelona U-18 attack could be broken. Likewise, the opportunities made by the team could be driven away by the opposing team until the end of the match.
