Governor Welcomes President Jokowi to Visit E-Prix Circuit in Ancol

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan accompanied President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to directly inspect the Jakarta E-Prix 2022 circuit in Ancol area, on Monday (4/25) afternoon.

On that occasion, Governor expressed his appreciation for the attention of the President and was optimistic that the Jakarta E-Prix could be on schedule.

"Thank you Mr. President for taking the time to visit the Formula E Circuit in Ancol this afternoon. We hope that this circuit can be completed perfectly and ready to host international events and bring the good name of Indonesia and Jakarta," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He explained that the track condition has been 100 percent completed and has complied with the rules set by Formula E Operation (FEO). The parts that are still in progress include the paddock, grandstand, guardrail, mall building, and other facilities.

"There will be a fence over the concrete as protection. That's all that would be done with the preparations for guests to use the mall next door. But, so far, the circuit is 100 percent," he explained.

President Jokowi hoped that the could be completed before June.

"I want to see what Formula E preparation looks like. For the race track is ready, then the only thing being chased is the paddock and the grandstand, there is still time after Eid al-Fitr and we hope we can see the race in early June," he stated.
