Dishub Deputy Head Monitors Homecoming Flow at Kampung Rambutan Terminal

Entering D-3 of Eid 1443 Hijri, Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Deputy Head Chaidir conducted a working visit to the Kampung Rambutan Terminal, East Jakarta.

The government has provided optimal services to the community and wants a healthy and safe homecoming this year

During the visit, he checked intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) bus ticket counters and supporting facilities and infrastructure for AKAP bus crews and travelers.

He assessed that Eid homecoming flow at terminals in Jakarta on D-3 was relatively smooth without any significant problems.

"Including Kampung Rambutan Terminal, all have run according to the standard operating procedures (SOP). Starting from the flow, the arrival of prospective passengers, services, to departure, everything has gone well," he conveyed, Friday (4/29).

According to the current government policy, each traveler must have received a complete vaccination up to a third dose or booster.

"For those who haven't received the booster vaccine, we have provided it at the Kampung Rambutan Terminal. The government has provided optimal services to the community and wants a healthy and safe homecoming this year," he asserted.

Until today, there was no significant spike in Eid travelers as happened in 2019 or before the pandemic.

"There are still not too many passengers for regular AKAP buses, about 10-15 passengers per bus," he added.

This condition allegedly occurred because many travelers were going home using private vehicles. Because some people were still afraid of being exposed to COVID-19 when using public transportation.

"I think the Jakarta Government's free homecoming program also affects the current number of AKAP bus passengers," he uttered.

He ensured that the Jakarta Transportation Agency continues to check AKAP bus roadworthiness and drivers' health before carrying the passengers.

"We have conducted administration and ramp checks for the fleets. Drivers also undergo medical tests, including blood pressure and drug tests. Unroadworthy vehicles are prohibited from carrying passengers. So are the drivers. If they are not healthy, we won't allow them to drive, especially using drugs," he mentioned.
