Channel on Jalan Pantai Kuta III Dredged

The 200-meter-long water channel which is located on Jalan Pantai Kuta III, RT 03/10, Ancol Urban Village, Pademangan, North Jakarta is being dredged.

The mud is 20 centimeters thick

Pademangan Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head Slamet Riyanto said the dredging was carried out following up on the 2021/2022 Musrenbang proposal as the channel has also experienced silting due to thick silt. It has been ongoing since Thursday (5/5) and was targeted to be completed in three weeks.

"The mud is 20 centimeters thick. We also see a lot of garbage that clogs the water. So far, 16 cubic meters of mud have been transported," he expressed, Wednesday (5/11).

There were about ten workers at the location along with equipment such as hoes, crowbars, sledgehammers, sacks, and buckets. Currently, 80 meters of the channel have been dredged, or about 40 percent.

By so, it was expected to accommodate water in large quantities to minimize inundation when it rained.

"Hope the road can be free of flooding after it is done," he hoped.
