Governor Hopes Jakarta E-Prix to Be a Lesson in Technology and Efficiency

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, witnessed the demolition process of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) by the Jakarta E-Prix organizers, on Sunday (6/5).

What is unique is that installation to disassembly is full of technology, full of accumulated knowledge

He made sure the boxes containing the cars used by the races were packed very well.

"We see that it is a container box containing the racing cars used yesterday (inside the Jakarta E-Prix). Last night, these cars were stripped down and put in a box weighing 300 tons. Then now they will be taken to storage and then will be sent on June 9 for Morocco E-Prix," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He was impressed with the details the organizers put into maximizing technology and efficiency. He hoped that it could be a lesson for local officials in organizing events.

“What is unique is that installation to disassembly is full of technology, full of accumulated knowledge. Because it is very useful for our team in Jakarta to take lessons, knowledge thus it can be used for our activities here," he explained.

"So how efficient the work was done very well and the garage yesterday was full of race cars and is now empty. Of course, this will be a lesson for us, " he added.

Aside that, the organizers also adhered to the concept of the environment, as Formula E is a race that puts forward the environmental paradigm.

“It's not just about the race as maybe the race is only 45 minutes. But, all of this involves complex planning, the use of extremely intensive technology, plus ideology that must be adhered to," he explained.

"That is caring for the environment and using the most efficient ways of utilizing resources. So how can a race leave no pollution, even for electricity generated from generators that run on bio-diesel," he closed.
