Jakarta Photography Competition, Don't Miss it!

The Jakarta Communication, Information, and Statistics (Kominfotik) Agency again holds a 'Color of Jakarta' Photography Competition in commemorating Jakarta's 495th Anniversary.

Photo submission period starts from June 2 to 19, 2022

This year's Color of Jakarta Photography Competition carried the theme of Jakarta in Collaboration, Acceleration, and Elevation with categories of Cityscape, Public Space, and Photo Series.

Jakarta Kominfotik Agency's Public Communication Division Head Nuruning Septarida explained that photos contested in the Cityscape category were photos of Jakarta cityscape or landmarks that could be taken during the day or at night.

For the Public space category, the contested photos were related to public spaces or third places (indoor/outdoor) in Jakarta and the ecosystem in it.

Meanwhile, for the Photo Series category, the contested photos displayed a series of photos that tell a story according to the theme (with at least six photos).

People who are interested to participate in the photography competition can register via bit.ly/PendaftaranCOJ2022.

"Photo submission period starts from June 2 to 19, 2022," she mentioned, Monday (6/6).

Since it was first held in 2014, she continued, the photography competition had documented the interesting aspects, changes, and successes of Jakarta from the point of view of photographers or photography enthusiasts.

The competition was held to show the collaborative spirit of Jakarta through moments captured by photographers' lenses.

"How collaboration is depicted and represented in photographic work. For example, photos of people working together or doing activities in public spaces," she said.

Meanwhile, the acceleration showed Jakarta's efforts to advance. The photographers participating in the competition were expected to capture Jakarta's developments in infrastructure, transportation integration, service innovation, and anything that showed Jakarta as an advanced city.

"The photos are expected to have a meaning and show Jakarta's optimism to rise, develop, and progress after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic," she added.

Participants who took a part in this competition had the opportunity to get a cash prize of Rp 15 million for the 1st winner, Rp 10 million for the 2nd winner, and Rp 8 million for the 3rd winner.

"The announcement of winners and the awarding of prizes are planned to be held on June 30, 2022, by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan," she uttered.

The following are the requirements to participate in the Color of Jakarta Photography Competition:

- Indonesian Citizens (WNI) who have an ID card and NPWP

- Participants from the general public and it is free of charge

- Participants are allowed to submit more than one photo (can take a part in more than one category).

- Participants must understand and agree to all terms of the competition

- Participants must follow the Instagram accounts @colorofjkt, @dkijakarta, and @jakartahajatan

There are also special requirements as follows:

-Participants can take photos using a digital camera or drone

-The submitted work is your photo that has never been submitted for a contest before

-Photos do not offend ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group (SARA) and do not contain pornographic elements

- Photos contested are taken during 2022

- Photos are submitted via email to: colorofjakarta2022@gmail.com with the subject "COJ2022_Category"

In the body of the email, add a photo description (caption), location, and date the photo was taken. Email must be sent no later than June 19, 2022, at 23:59.

- Not allowed to add any text or images in the photo work

- Required to register online and fill in personal data via the link: bit.ly/PendaftarancoJ2022

- Each participant must upload the competition publication post on their Instagram feed

- Digital processing is allowed only to the extent of setting the contrast, hue, cropping, dodging, burning, saturation, level, curve, noise reduction/dust removing and not reducing, adding, and changing the essence of the photo

- Photos are posted on private Instagram (make sure the account is not locked or private) by tagging the @colorofjkt @dkijakarta and @jakartahajatan and adding hashtags #COJ2022 #colorofjakarta #JakartaHajatan

- All photo entries that are submitted become the property of the committee and the Jakarta Government

- The committee has the right to disqualify any participant who is deemed to have violated the terms and conditions

- The winner is required to submit complete "EXIF" data and high-resolution work

- The jury's decision is final and cannot be contested
