South Jakarta Opens Betawi Dance Training to Preserve Betawi Culture

The South Jakarta Culture Sub-agency opens a Betawi dance training at the South Jakarta Cultural Arts Training Center (PPSB), Jalan Asem Baris, Tebet. It aims to preserve Betawi culture following Bylaw Number 4/2015 on Preservation of Betawi Culture.
The training itself will be ongoing from June 13 to 29, 2022
South Jakarta Culture Sub-agency Head Puspla Dirdjaja stated there were about 30 participants aged at least 15.
"The training itself will be ongoing from June 13 to 29, 2022," he expressed, Monday (6/13).

"There are 41 people who have registered, but only 30 passed the selection process," he explained.
Over the next ten days, he added, those participants will take part in three types of Betawi dance training at the PPSB Building, South Jakarta.
"After the training, we'll hold an art performance to allow them to present the results of the Betawi dance practice," he stated.
