BPBD: Floods in Jakarta Have Completely Receded

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) announced that inundation in Jakarta had completely receded since noon.

Currently, the inundation has completely receded

Previously, rain with a moderate and heavy intensity that flushed most of Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Tuesday (10/5) yesterday caused several rivers to overflow and puddle at several points.

"Currently, the inundation has completely receded," expressed Jakarta BPBD's Disaster Information and Data Center Head, Mohammad Insaf, Wednesday (10/5).

According to him, it was thanks to the collaborative efforts of related regional apparatus organizations (OPD) such as BPBD, SDA Agency, Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat), Environment (LH) Agency, Parks and City Forest Agency, and urban village PPSU, deployed thousands of personnel with hundreds of equipment such as mobile pumps to suck up water and ensure the water lines were functioning properly.

“The role of community elements is also involved in this effort, such as the RT/RW,  Early Awareness Society Forum (FKDM), and other public figures," he added.

The agency appealed to the community to be careful and vigilant of inundation, as the rain with moderate to heavy intensity will continue to occur until October 8, 2022.

"Call 112 for emergence, this is free of charge and operates for 24 hours," he stated.
