Sekretaris River Cleaned Up

The effort to clean the river during rainy season keeps going by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Now, the effort was done at Sekretaris River, Duri Kepa, West Jakarta.

We already picked up trash with 6 dump trucks with capacity of 9 cubic today

Masturi (50), the cleanliness supervisor in Kali Sekretaris said, the trash piles were dominated by styrofoam, plastic, wood, bed, and others. The trash came from southern capital, especially from Kali Pesanggrahan which flows to Kali Sekretaris.

"We already picked up trash with 6 dump trucks with capacity of 9 cubic today," said Masturi, Wednesday (1/28).

Moreover, his side already picked up trash with 15 big dump trucks and 2 average dump trucks in this week.

"We will continue to pick up the trash until the river is clean from the trash," he added.

Anggiat Togatorop, Head of West Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department said, facing the rainy season, his side held the trash cleaning intensively by involving thousands of janitors to picked up trash from land, river and canal.

"At rainy season, trash will much be at the river. So, we will monitor all river including Kali Mookevart, Angke, Pesanggrahan routinely and clean the river if the trash volume increases," he said.
