Heru: Eradication of Corruption Must Be Embodied in Real Actions

To realize clean governance and free from corruption, the Jakarta Provincial Government together with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held a Corruption Prevention Coordination in the Bappeda Pattern Room Block G, Floor 2, Thursday (12/15).

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono asserted that the coordination with the Corruption Eradication Committee is a form of the Jakarta Government's commitment to building enthusiasm and a culture of preventing and eradicating corruption. It also aims at maintaining public trust and satisfaction with the Jakarta Government's performance as a whole.

On that occasion, he instructed his staff at the service level not to hesitate in coordinating with the Inspectorate and the KPK regarding what to do.

"We prioritize prevention. Agency officers, if your are in doubt, there is an inspectorate or a task force. Please support us," he continued.

Based on the interim assessment of the KPK's 2022 Integrated Corruption Prevention Program (Monitoring Control for Prevention /MCP), the Jakarta Government is currently in the highest zone of corruption prevention programs with a score of 90.00.

"This places Jakarta in the green zone or the Highest Zone for the implementation of the Corruption Prevention Program for all areas of intervention," he continued.

Jakarta Province Inspectorate, Syaefuloh Hidayat added that various efforts to build anti-corruption had been carried out by his party. Among other things, anti-corruption cultural campaigns and providing education to students and the state civil apparatus (ASN), as well as forming an anti-corruption counseling team.

"We also formed and conducted debriefing of the Jakarta Anti-Corruption Regional Advocacy Committee (KAD), as well as signing integrity facts with regional heads," he stated.

KPK Deputy Chairperson, Alexander Marwata said the problem of corruption is still a national and international issue. Rampant corruption in various parts of the world, became an obstacle in eradicating poverty, undermined democracy, and damaged the economy

According to him, activities like this were very important for the Jakarta Government, whose regional budget reached Rp 83.7 trillion.

"There needs to be supervision, especially regarding the use of the budget," he concluded.
