The statement above was conveyed by Interfaith Relations Comission Chairperson, Romo Antonius Riyadi after accompanying the Joint Christmas Celebration Committee to meet with the Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono in the main living room of the City Hall Building, Monday (12/19).
He explained that in the meeting, the Joint Christmas Celebration Committee was represented by Jakarta archdiocese leadership, the Jakarta Communion of Churches in Indonesia, Jakarta Communion of Indonesian Pentecostal Churches, Jakarta Communion of Churches and Bible Institute, Jakarta Adventist Church Chair, Jakarta Salvation Army Church Chair, Jakarta Baptist Church Chair, and Jakarta Orthodox Church chair.

"Mr. Heru said that the Jakarta Provincial Government together with related parties is ready to maintain secure Christmas celebrations for safety and comfortable situation," he expressed.
He hoped that the Christmas celebrations could run smoothly.

Previously, the Jakarta Government had held a leadership meeting to finalize preparations for Christmas and New Year, including discussing security aspects.
The meeting led by the Acting Governor together with Culture and Tourism Division Governor Deputy, Marullah Matali; Acting City Secretary, Uus Kuswanto; and several leaders of regionql apparatus organizations (OPD), on December 5, 2021, one of them discussed the location or venue for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Culture and Tourism Division Governor Deputy, Marullah Matali stated the Christmas and New Year celebrations in Jakarta would refer to the PPKM rules which took effect from December 20, 2022 to January 2, 2023.
"We'll do the best as possible by involving all elements, including Forkopimda. Until now, the Jakarta Government still adheres to PPKM regulations that will be issued by the central government," he added, after the executive meeting.
The point is all elements will try to create a peaceful, safe, and controlled atmosphere during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
