Anticipating Inundation, Mobile Pump Alerted on Jalan Bangun Nusa Raya

The Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) has alerted a mobile pump unit to anticipate inundation on Jalan Bangun Nusa Raya, RT 11/03, Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district.

Hope there will be no more inundation

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti said the current condition of Jalan Bangun Nusa Raya, in RT 11/03 Cengkareng Timur Urban Village is prone to inundation during heavy rains for quite a long time.

"Even, when there was a rob or tidal wave, the road was also inundated by overflowing channels on Jalan Daan Mogot," she expressed, Tuesday (2/21).

She explained it was also exacerbated by the construction of a box culvert project on Jalan Daan Mogot KM 12.8. To overcome the potential for inundation at the location, her party had installed a mobile pump unit with 100 liters per second capacity.

"If heavy rain and tidal wave occur, the mobile pump will be activated to suck up inundation into the channels on Jalan Daan Mogot. Hope it can anticipate inundation, especially during heavy rains that last quite a while," she explained.

Aris (47), a resident of Cengkareng Timur Urban Village appreciated the efforts made by the West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency which alerted a mobile pump unit to prevent inundation on Jalan Bangun Nusa Raya.

"Hope there will be no more inundation, thus the roads can still be crossed by the public safely and comfortably," she hoped.
