Mosques and musala (prayer rooms) at 13 bus terminals managed by the Terminal for Transportation Executing Unit under Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), finally revitalized.
The revitalization assistance is on a minor scale
Its revitalization was initiated by the Central Executive of the Indonesian Mosques Council in collaboration with the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) through the Revitalization Activities of 21 Mosques/Musalas in Terminals throughout Greater Jakarta.
UPTAJ Head, Syamsul Mirwan said the revitalization of the mosque/musala is aimed at providing comfort and solemnity in worship for home-bound travelers who want to return to their hometowns and the people in the terminal environment during the holy month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri.
Kalideres Terminal Looks Crowded with Homebound Travelers“The revitalization assistance is on a minor scale. So, its nature is just repainting, love prayer mats and the Qur'an is the same as repairing the place of ablution. Do not change the structure of the mosque building. Hopefully, the results can be felt by travelers who visit here," he expressed, Tuesday (4/18).
He explained there are prayer facilities in the form of mosques/prayer rooms in the area of several bus terminals in Jakarta. Some of these mosques or musalas were built using the Jakarta Provincial Government's City Budget (APBD) and non-governmental organizations.
He added Jakarta Government could only carry out the maintenance or upkeep of mosques/musalas covered by the regional budget.
"This revitalization carried out last March was completed in early April 2023. For the maintenance, it will be carried out by the respective terminal executing units," he stated.
