Jakarta Dinkes Agency's Epidemiology and Immunization Surveillance Section Head, Ngabila Salama said during endemic and transitional conditions or the transition of seasons, it is important for every individual to maintain good immunity. "Transitional conditions cause humidity to increase, thus various germs such as viruses and bacteria easily enter the body. Also in this situation, immunity decreases due to stress, fatigue, lack of sleep due to congestion, and so on," she expressed, Tuesday (6/26).

She explained immunity increases by adopting a CERDIK and CERIA healthy lifestyle every day. The CERDIK stands for Routine Health Checks; Get rid of cigarette smoke; Diligent exercise of at least 6,000 steps per day/30 minutes per day, 5 times a week; Balanced diet by consuming five servings of vegetables and fruit per day and reducing consumption of sugar, salt, and fat.

"Get enough rest for at least 7 hours per day, and also manage stress well with meditation, recreation, worship, and so on," she explained.

While, CERIA stands for intelligent intellectual, emotional, and spiritual; Empathy in communicating effectively; Diligent worship according to religion and belief; Interactions that are beneficial to life as well as compassion and foster care for growth and development in the family and society.

She added the WHO explained endemic meant the level of transmission in the community was very low and there would be a certain period of time when cases would increase. For instance, the rainy season for ISPA.

They also reminded that endemic malaria, HIV, tuberculosis still kill millions of people every year in the world.

"Therefore, good educational efforts are needed for the public and a stable system to ensure that the Covid-19 endemic in Indonesia runs smoothly," he stated.
