East Jakarta Opens Stand at Flona Exhibition 2023

The East Jakarta administration is taking part in the Flora Fauna (Flona) Exhibition 2023 at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta. The booth carries the theme "Ruma Pelita".

To support the preservation of the archipelago's environment

East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Djauhar Arifin said the theme "Rumah Pelita" symbolizes hope and enthusiasm. The roof is made up of 38 knotted trusses which symbolize the number of provinces in Indonesia and is centered on an axis with Dayak decorations.

"The meaning contained in it is the spirit of all Indonesian provinces to support the preservation of the archipelago's environment," he expressed, Monday (9/18).

It is also decorated with eight garden lights shaped like giant balls and 15 spotlights.

"There is a large trembesi tree, with a diameter of one meter and a height of 15 meters, which has been transformed into a tree house," he explained.

The inside has a tree of life in it. This work consists of a tree that symbolizes life and a hexagon-shaped pedestal that symbolizes the six administrative regions of Jakarta.

"The meaning contained is the city of Jakarta's efforts to protect nature for life," he explained.

There is also a decorative diversity of ecosystems consisting of tropical plants, which grow naturally in tropical countries, including Indonesia.

Then there are Xerovit plants which can survive in dry environments such as deserts. Apart from that, there are rivarian plants that grow on river banks, as well as annual plants with a short life cycle of around one to six months.

"The shape of the building is made aerodynamic with soaring ceilings and carries a semi-outdoor concept, which creates maximum wind flow," he continued.

During Flona 2023, the party is collaborating with several other regional apparatus organizations (OPD), starting from PPKUKM Agency, KPKP Sub-agency, Communications and Information Technology Sub-agency, Parekraf Sub-agency, General Affairs and sub-districts.

"We also involve Sakawana Bakti members or Scout members to play games. Then there are school children for musical performances. For one month, our booth will also feature an interesting entertainment stage for visitors," he continued.

As for the information, the Flona Exhibition 2023 will take place from September 15 to October 16, 2023.

It was realized in collaboration with the Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency and was opened by Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono on Friday (9/15).
