Ex-Kampung Bayam Residents: Living in Nagrak Flats is Very Comfortable

The ex-Kampung Bayam residents feel more comfortable living in the Nagrak Flats, Cilincing, rather than in tents as before. Moreover, their children are also provided with free bus transportation from the flat to school.

The statement above was stated by Shirley Aplonia, one of the ex-Kampung Bayam residents, where she felt it was more humane to live in a flat than stay in a tent on the side of a noisy and accident-prone road.

"It's more comfortable here than in a tent on the side of the road like yesterday," she expressed, Wednesday (9/27).

Residents of Ex-Kampung Bayam Agree to Be Relocated to Nagrak Flats

Besides being more comfortable living in a flat, life in this relocation site is also safer and supports children's growth and development.

She was also grateful that flat rental fees in Jakarta were still free, as Gubernatorial Regulation No. 87/2021 is still in effect about Providing Relief from Regional Retributions and Eliminating Administrative Sanctions in the Form of Late Payment of Interest to Retribution Recipients Affected by the Covid-19 Disaster.

"The talk circulating outside is that we want it to be free. We want to prove that we can also afford to pay as long as it is according to the program," s he asserted.

UPRS Region III Executing Unit Head, Faisal Rahman explained the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) provided school buses for the children of ex-Kampung Bayam residents. In total, there were 18 children consisting of seven elementary school students, six middle school students, and five high school students.

"On average, their schools are located in Sunter Agung area. Delivery services reach each school," he stated.
