The West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is building a new water channel, especially in areas prone to flooding.
Hopefully, it can minimize flooding in the rainy season
West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti expressed the channel was built on the side of the West Outer Ring Road, RW 10, Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district. The channel construction was 204 meters long, starting from the front of Taman Palem Mall to the Jakarta Cengkareng KPP Pratama Office.
"This channel is made, as the surrounding road was often flooded when it rains heavily," she expressed, Wednesday (10/4).
Collapsed Sidewalk in Cilangkap Baru RepairedAccording to her, the work which has been ongoing since August 25, 2023, involved ten personnel and a unit of excavator. The channel would have a height of 80 centimeters and a width of 60 centimeters using a U-Ditch.
She added it was carried out to follow up on residents' requests submitted through last year's Musrenbang forum.
"It is targeted for completion in two months ahead. Hopefully, it can minimize flooding in the rainy season," she stated.
