Community Organization Asked to Participate on Govt's Programs

Community Organization (Ormas) is asked to cooperate with City Administration. By doing so, their existence could be beneficial. One of them is by participating to socialize the Government's program for citizens.

"Ormas have appreciable potential. We can cooperate to socialize 5 order programs," said South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor, when opening Cross Community Organization Forum (FLO) in Pattern Room of South Jakarta Mayor Office, Saturday (3/28).

The 5 order programs include street vendor order, residence order, trash order, demonstration order, and traffic order.

"It would be more understood by community if the ones who socialize the program are fellow community, but it would be suspicious if it is firstly done by government," he added.

Meanwhile, chief executive of FLO meeting, Eka Jaya said, of 220 Ormas which is registered in South Jakarta National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol), there are only 40 active Ormas.

"It is seen from the mass, activeness, and program, obviously, there are only 40 Ormas. Currently his representative is formulating the program together," he disclosed.

Eka told, in future the Ormas, especially in South Jakarta should unite and cooperate with Government element whether civil or military.

"It is not o nly between Ormas, but also local administration, police, National Military of Indonesia, and National Narcotics Agency( BNN)," he exclaimed.
