Progress of Channel Dredging on Jalan Raya Kelapa Hibrida Reaches 90 Percent

Kelapa Gading Sub-district Executing Unit Head, Citrin Indrawati said dredging was conducted to increase the capacity or carrying capacity of the channel. So, when it rains heavily, it could accommodate water flow in large quantities from micro channels.
"Until now, the dredging has been carried out along 990 out of 1,100 meters or 90 percent," she expressed, Friday (1/12).

"It is started from the east side, precisely in front of the Penabur Kelapa Gading Christian School to the downstream of the channel. To smoothen it, we send one unit of excavator type spider and three dumps," she explained.
It was dredged to a depth of about one meter because the existing condition was only about 1-1.5 meters deep due to the presence of mud and garbage.
"It is targeted to be completed in the upcoming January. After it is done, hopefully it can minimize inundation when it rains," she added.
