City will Upgrade 29 Health Centers to Become D-type Hospital

As known, a total of 15 D-Type hospital will be inaugurated by Jakarta Provincial Government. To support the service in the hospital, hundreds bed for third class treatment will also be added after the inauguration.  

At the beginning, we will upgrade 18 health centers, but after we studied, only 15 can be upgraded. Later, we will upgrade the rests

"As many as 518 beds will be added by the completion of 15 health centers construction to become D-type hospital. Moreover, the number will rise to 750 beds when the operation runs optimally," told Koesmadi Priharto, Jakarta Health Department Head, Thursday (4/2).

But, Koesmedi admitted, the D-type hospital construction only met 70 percent of facilities and infrastructure for now. "We will construct the operation room, NICU in it, and we will complete all this year," he told.

The plans, the government will also upgrade 29 other health centers to become D-type hospital. "At the beginning, we will upgrade 18 health centers, but after we studied, only 15 can be upgraded. Later, we will upgrade the rests," he explained.

Besides that, the D-type hospital will serve the patients to not seek treatment to B-type hospital. "We will serve the patients with simple disease so they no need to go to B-type hospital because the health service is near with the citizens' settlement," he told.
