Today, Mpok Nori Passed Away

Betawi legendary artists, Nuri Sarinuri or better known as Mpok Nori (84) died in the General Hospital (RSUD) Pasar Rebo, Friday (4/3) at 7.40 AM.

Based on Public Relations Head of RSUD Pasar Rebo, Dedy Suryadi information, Mpok Nori suffered complications, namely heart, kidneys and lungs pain. She went into the hospital around 1.30 AM this morning to emergency room (IGD) and hasn't been treated into patient room.

"Mpok Nori is our old patient; she regularly went here every month. We also have her health record" explained Suryadi to beritajakarta.com, Friday (4/3).

Around 9.30 AM, the body of the deceased was brought by her family to funeral home in Jalan Gempol No. 39, RT 08/02 Bambu Apus, Cipayung. Upon arriving at the funeral home, the family sobs broke.

Rosita (40), one of Mpok Nori grandchildren said, before she died, her grandmother had complained of pain in her chest. Hence the family brings Mpok Nori to Pasar Rebo and had examined by medical team in emergency room.

The plan, the bodies of the deceased will be buried in TPU Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung at noon today.

"A month ago, my grandmother (Mpok Nori) asked to be buried in Pondok Ranggon. Grandma asked that her graveyard to not overlain by another graveyard and treated well," Rosita told with tears in her eyes.

Meanwhile, a number of her colleagues immediately went to the funeral home. Among them are, Haji Bolot, Kadir, Tarzan, Rodiyah and a number of other well-known comedians.

Just to note, Mpok Nori started to become famous when she joined Pepesan Kosong serial stage in 1990s. Her name getting famous while starring in several films such as in Hantu Biang Kerok movie.

Mpok Nori unique style and Betawi dialect often invite laughter to her interlocutor or her audience.
