Analyst Suggests Community to Send Advise for Bike Lane Utilization

City Analyst, Nirwono Yoga, suggested Bike to Work (B2W) community to propose advise or recommendation to Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, related to bike lane maintenance and utilization.

The community should directly proposes advise and recommendation to the Acting Governor

According to him, proposing recommendation is better than suing Jakarta Provincial Government to Administrative Court on suspicion of city planning malpractice.

"The community should directly proposes advise and recommendation to the Acting Governor," he said, Wednesday (1/17).

Bike Lane Maintenance Remains Continued

He added that the community is still able to assist Jakarta Transportation Agency to invite citizen in using bike, keeping and maintaining bike lane optimally.

"It means the bike lane infrastructure will be useful for the citizen," he continued.

The community is also able to accompany the agency to make the bike lane better and also maintain it.

"As well as assisting, planning or developing new bike lane for bike user. It means the dream of Jakarta as bike-friendly city can be accomplished," he continued.

He also appealed the agency to guard, monitor, and control the bike lane from any of violation.

"Bike lane in Jakarta must be free from violation such as illegal parking and so on," he added.

According to him, Jakarta Provincial Government is the most serious regional government for developing facility for bike user.

"It must be appreciated and supported. B2W community is needed to perfect the facility," he said.

He explained that Jakarta must be a bike-friendly city. It means the facility must be still developed even though the user is still low.

"By presenting the facility such as bike lane, citizens are suggested to use bike for short distance. It aims to reduce traffic jam, pollution, and makes body healthier," he concluded.
