Environment Agency Adds Nine Air Quality Monitoring Stations

The Jakarta Environment Agency will add nine air quality monitoring stations (SPKU) soon. The new SPKU is at a reference-grade level like the previous year's procurement.

Until now, Jakarta already has 12 reference-grade SPKUs in operation and it will be added nine this year

Jakarta Environment Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said the existing or previously procured SPKU was 12 units. In 2025, Jakarta was targeted to have 25 SPKUs.

"Until now, Jakarta already has 12 reference-grade SPKUs in operation and it will be added nine this year," he expressed, Thursday (1/18).

LH Agency Holds Air Quality Controlling Strategy Discussion

He hoped that the new SKPU could share maximum air quality data and be used as the main reference for all parties. To achieve optimal implementation, other regulations were needed to improve Jakarta's air quality.

"In 2024, we'll accelerate air quality management in Jakarta. Besides increasing the number of SPKUs, we also strengthen regulations to improve air quality, one of which is through low emission zones," he stated.
