Simultaneous Chili Planting Conducted in 400 Locations Today

Jakarta Empowerment and Family Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK) Acting Chairwoman, Mirdiyanti Heru Budi Hartono, led the hybrid Simultaneous Chili Planting in 400 locations, Friday (1/19).

There are 2,500 participants

Jakarta TP PKK Pokja 3 Chairwoman, Komariah Marullah said the simultaneous planting of chilies was the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to anticipate the price hike on chili ahead of Idul Fitri 1445 Hijri.

"Today we're planting chilies simultaneously in five areas of the city and Seribu Islands Regency. There are 2,500 participants," she expressed, at Ragunan Agro Education Tourism, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Friday (1/19).

In planting 50,000 seeds planted in 400 locations, she explained all the seeds were the result of collaboration between the Jakarta  Government; the Jakarta Branch BI Representative Office; and PT East West Seed Indonesia as a producer of seeds brand cap Panah Merah.

"We'll do it continuously by involving more stakeholders, including supporting inflation control," she explained.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati uttered that the simultaneous planting of chilies was also aimed at bringing closer reach and distribution of food to the community.

She added the Jakarta Government appreciated the steps taken by TP PKK as a working partner who initiated inviting the community to jointly carry out urban farming and land use by planting chilies.

"Residents who become urban farmers will automatically be able to reduce their expenses too," she stated.

As for the information, the group was directly led by Jakarta PKK Acting Chairwoman, Mirdiyanti Heru Budi Hartono also harvested 25 kilograms of melons at the Ragunan Tourism Education Smart Green House (SGH).
