Water Channel Normalization at Gang Rakyat Targeted to Finish Next Week

Penjaringan Sub-district's Water Resources Implementer Unit, North Jakarta is normalizing water channel on Jalan Bidara Raya, Gang Rakyat, RT 09/05, Penjaringan Urban Village. The normalization is targeted to finish next week.

It is widened up to 40 centimeter

The Implementer Unit Head, Pendi, admitted the normalization is based on local resident's aspiration. The channel can not function optimally since its width is only 20 centimeter.

"Normalization is run along 50 meters with 20 centimeters of height. It is widened up to 40 centimeters," he said, Friday (1/25).

He added that his personnel also dredging the mud and waste to add the channel capacity.

"We also add channel cover to maintain its cleanliness," he continued.

As many as eight personnel are deployed to normalize the channel.

"The effort is started January 22 and targeted to complete this month," he added.

Meanwhile, Ali Yanto (47), local resident, admitted the channel is blocked with mud and waste.

"Thanks for responding our request fast. It is hoped the channel will will minimize inundation here," he hoped.
