Some 30 PPSU personnel from Cipete Selatan Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta were alerted to six locations prone to inundation following the rain this morning.

Cipete Selatan Urban Village Head, Fuad said the 30 PPSU personnel had been alerted to carry out quick handling before the inundation rises.

"We immediately clean garbage that clogs in the storm drains and channels. There had been puddles in several locations with five centimeters high and had been handled," he expressed, Wednesday (1/31).

He explained those puddles were spotted on Jalan Cipete Raya, Jalan Pangeran Antasari, Jalan Abdul Majid, Jalan RS Fatmawati Raya, Jalan Kemang Selatan XII, and Jalan Puri Mutiara.

"We send five personnel to each location. Mornings are rush hour, we handle puddles quickly to minimize traffic jams," he explained.

He uttered all ranks of the Cipete Selatan Urban Village had been instructed to be prepared for post-disaster management and disaster management due to the rainy season.

"We have also set up a disaster preparedness post. It is guarded by cross-sector agencies and community elements," he added.

Revin (25), a local resident, appreciated the PPSU personnel's quick action in anticipating before inundation occurred.

"Even though it has been raining continuously since last night because the channels are clean, the water flows smoothly and doesn't overflow onto the road," he stated.
