Jakarta Provincial Government held cheap basic food program in two urban villages, Ciracas Urban Village, East Jakarta and Pademangan Barat Urban Village, West Jakarta, Thursday (2/1).

Jakarta Provincial Government cooperated with PT Suri Nusantara Jaya in Ciracas Urban Village and PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol in Pademangan Barat Urban Village.

"We only prepared 1,000 packages. But it was added up to 1,500 packages since the enthusiasm was high," said Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, as quoted in Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

Heru appreciated both PT Suri Nusantara Jaya and PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol for participating in the program. He hoped more regional owned enterprises to participate in such program.

"I appreciated PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Boards for participating the program in Pademangan Barat Urban Village by preparing 1,000 packages," he added.

Meanwhile, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Director, Winarto admitted the program initiated by Jakarta Provincial Government is aimed to handle inflation rate in Jakarta.

"We use our CSR to cover resident's basic needs. Moreover, we will face fasting month in a month ahead," he admitted.

His side prepared 1,000 packages for the first stage of the program. The packages will be added based on resident's needs.

"We'll participate again in several areas up to fasting month," he closed.
