Heru: Various Commodities Should Exist in Cheap Market

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps tighten the synergy with private's CSR in order to prepare cheap staple food through cheap market program. The program which was firstly held on January 15, 2024 ago will also be widened.

Synergy is carried out in terms of providing stock of commodities because the enthusiasm continues to increase. Up today, privates that already joining the program are Yayasan Maha Karunia Sai, Trans7, PT Suri Nusantara Jaya, PT Mayora, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Terminal Peti Kemas Koja, dan PT Karya Citra Nusantara.
"It has been two weeks they (private) assisting our program. Jakarta Provincial Government will not add more budget since private's CSR is helping us much," said Acting Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono during his visit to cheap market program in Koja Urban Village, North Jakarta, Friday (2/2).
Cheap Market Held in PademanganHeru advises related institutions such as Food Tenacity, Maritime and Fishery Agency and Regional Owned Enterprises to add more various commodities sold in the program. It can be meat, chicken meat, egg, and so on.
"The program is held as our strategy to maintain inflation rate in Jakarta, and ensuring the availability of food, distribution coverage, and effective communication in coordinating with cross-sectors," he added as quoted in Jakarta Provincial Government's Press Release.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Fishery Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati, is committed to continue the program up to ahead of fasting month and Eid ul Fitr. Her side also intensifies planting program called Jakarta Menanam which is run twice a week.
"Commodities sold in the program is a dry food category. Chili and red onion are one of instrument to decide regional's inflation. It is aimed to guarantee chili and red onion stock are safe during fasting month and Eid ul Fitr," she explained.
