Cilincing People Experience Benefits of Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination

Residents living in Cilincing Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-district, North Jakarta, very appreciated and felt the benefits of the free anti-rabies vaccination service.

As stated by Amanda (30), a resident from RT 05/02, Cilincing Urban Village. She admitted she was happy her pets could be given a rabies vaccine for free through the door to door service.

"Thank God, I brought a cat to be vaccinated. It's very good and helpful, as there is a program from the government for free rabies vaccination, saving costs too," she expressed, Monday (2/19).

68 Pets in West Jakarta Vaccinated

North Jakarta Maritime, Agricultural and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) Head, Unang Rustanto said today's service was held in RW 01 and 02, Cilincing Urban Village.

"In total, 57 animals get vaccinated today, consisting of 48 cats and nine dogs. We also provide medical services to 21 unhealthy cats," he explained.

The vaccination in Cilincing will be held from February 19 to 22, 2024, by targeting different regions.

"However, there are conditions for being given the rabies vaccine, namely, being at least four months old, being in good health, and not being pregnant or breastfeeding," he explained.

He added it is a routine agenda every year in each urban village in order to ensure the health of the animal and its owner.

"We must maintain Jakarta's rabies-free title. Through this service, we can anticipate the emergence of rabies cases in Jakarta, especially North Jakarta," he stated.
