Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, officially opened the Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang) for West Jakarta administration to discuss the Regional Working Plan (RKPD) 2025, at the West Jakarta Mayor's Office, Monday (3/25).

On that occasion, he emphasized proposing priority programs focused on flood prevention and handling traffic jams.

To overcome flooding, there must be revitalization of rivers, one of which is the Semongol River in Kalideres area and several other river points, as well as accelerating the construction of sheet piles. Regarding the flood caused by the overflowing waters of the Semongol River, he apologized to the people affected by the flood.

"We'll handle it as soon as possible. Through the Jakarta Water Resources Agency (SDA), we will start flood management from the sea, meaning from the northern part of Jakarta. In the north, we build reservoirs and embungs (artificial lakes) which we immediately fill in, continuing into the West Jakarta area. We will use the dry season to improve. So, hopefully, everything can be resolved next year," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Tuesday (3/26).

Aside that, he had instructed the Jakarta SDA Agency to built a waterway in the Gendong River. We've discussed it with the central government through the Directorate General of Natural Resources, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

Further, he expressed, dealing with traffic jams was also a big challenge for the West Jakarta area. Handling traffic jams could be done with traffic engineering and controlling illegal parking. He also urged the public to open housing entry portals to parse traffic jams that occur during peak hours (going to and from work).

"If conditions are safe, housing entry portals can be reopened, so they don't pile up at one point on the road. Open during morning activities and afternoon activities," he explained.

Other priority programs discussed in Musrenbang were improving the economy through entrepreneurial training, expanding access to marketing of entrepreneurial products, as well as handling densely populated areas through collaborative programs with stakeholders and local communities.

He also emphasized the importance of managing waste and rubbish through assistance with waste banks and increasing the coverage of TPS (garbage disposal sites).

"Through this Musrenbang, we can choose which programs are the most priority, thus our APBD will be sufficient to realize them. So, people can quickly experience development in West Jakarta," he asserted.

West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto uttered a series of Musrenbang activities in West Jakarta had started from 2 to15 January, 2024, through pramusrenbang at sub-district level. It was continued with the Musrenbang at sub-district level, which was integrated with the Musrenbang at urban village level from February 26 to March 7, 2024. Then, the city level musrenbang was slated from March 25 to 27, 2024.

"There are nine development priorities for 2025, namely handling traffic jams, dealing with floods, managing waste, and garbage, handling densely populated areas in 17 neighborhoods in Kamal and Cengkareng Barat urban villages. Then is improving air quality by building RTH (Green Open Space) in three locations, accelerating economic growth, preventing stunting, strengthening food security, and improving public services through strengthening internet networks and improving the quality of human resources in digital literacy," he closed.
