Fire Burns Kamal 06 Primary School

West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency personnel extinguished fire which burned Kamal 06 State Primary School on Jalan Bakti Pramuka, RT 09/01, Kamal Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-district, Wednesday (3/27).

School's teacher, Bayu Fitrawan, said the incident happened at 9:30 AM.

"It was allegedly caused by electricity short from library room then spread to UKS and musala," he said.

Electricity Short Causes Fire on Jalan Genteng Ijo

According to him, there were 30 students inside the musala before the incident happened. The fire then made the students panic. Teachers quickly evacuated them. Luckily there was no victims.

"There is no victim in this incident," he added.

West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue's Operation Section Head, Syarifudin explained fire burned three rooms namely library, UKS, and musala.

"Personnel started extinguish the fire at 9:40 by deploying six fire trucks and 30 personnel," he explained.

The fire then fully extinguished at 10:27 AM. The incident caused material lost Rp 450 million.

"The fire was allegedly caused by the electricity short," he added.
