Ujung Menteng Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UP PKB), Cakung, East Jakarta, run ramp check for Eid transports at Pulogebang Integrated Bus Terminal. The activity is held from April 3 to 18, 2024.

Ujung Menteng PKB Head, Masdes Arofi, said ramp check is held to make sure the transports' safety and comfort.

Based on the testing result in two days before, there were six out of ten transports passed the tests.

"Sticker will be attached to the buses passing the tests. For the failed buses are recommend not to operate for this year's homecoming season," he said, Friday (4/5).

Mostly the failed buses, he added, because of extra seat on emergency door by 19 percent and vulcanized tire by 14 percent, and no seat belt by 11 percent. Others were no glass-breaking tool, light extinguisher, slick tire , broken wiper, blurry lamp, and so on.

"The buses must be in prime condition to be used as homecoming transport. Driver's condition must be also healthy," he added.

Meanwhile, Ujung Menteng PKB's another officer, Dony Erlan Prasetyo, explained his side deploys 60 mechanical personnel. They work from 7 AM to 9 PM.

"For buses failed passing test are able to operate after improving the condition," he stated.
