A fire gutted the ex-Buaran Lama Station building, Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Malaka Raya, Duren Sawit, Tuesday (5/23) morning.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Operation Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman said the firemen managed to extinguish the flames in one hour that occured at around 7.45 AM.

Despite the station was abandoned, the existing train tracks were still functioning. It even becomes a national railway track. Luckily, this fire did not disrupt train travel.
"No casualties and fatalities reported in the incident," he closed.
