Residential Area in RW 05, Kebon Sirih Beautified with Mural Paintings

Some 88 joint personnel of PPSU, Tamhut Task Force, Water Resources (SDA), and Menteng Sub-district Bina Marga, Central Jakarta are seen beautifying the residential area in RW 05, Kebon Sirih Urban Village.

According to him, Economy and Development Section Head, M Faturrohman stated it is in order to improve the quality of dense residential areas in the area.

"We're trying to beautify this dense residential area into a model in the middle of the city," he said, Wednesday (5/8).

This action included the creation of a 250-meter-long mural on Jalan Kebon Timur Gang 2, RW 05. It created on the three meter high wall had the theme of urban life, preserving nature, moral messages about staying away from drugs and keeping the environment clean.

Then reforestation would also be carried out by potting, cleaning channels, repairing roads, and sorting waste, as well as installing vertical gardens at several locations.

It involved 20 personnel of Kebon Sirih Urban Village PPSU, 10 personnel of PPSU from Cikini, Gondangdia, Menteng, and Pegangsaan, 10 personnel of Forest and Water Resources (SDA) Task Forces, as well as eight personnel of the Menteng Sub-district Bina Marga.

"We have been carrying out technical activities since last Friday (5/3) and are targeted to complete this weekend," he asserted.

The action received appreciation from one of the residents from RT 02/05 Kebon Sirih Urban Village, Rian Kamil. Moreover, their residential area was planned to be a representative of Menteng Sub-district in the Central Jakarta City-level Urban Village Competition.

"This makes residential areas more beautiful. Hopefully, the condition can be maintained and improved again," he hoped.
