N. Jakarta Social Sub-agency Distributes 100 Wheelchairs

North Jakarta Social Sub-agency has distributed 100 wheelchairs during January to third week of May 2024 to underprivileged residents spread across six sub-districts.

North Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Rizqon Hermawan, said the distribution of wheelchairs is not just an effort to provide assistance, but also a manifestation of the government's seriousness in providing equal opportunities for underprivileged people and people with disabilities.

"We continue to be committed to supporting and providing attention to those who need help," he said Wednesday (5/29).

The wheelchairs were spread to Cilincing Sub-district by 32 units, Koja 23 units, Tanjung Priok 22 units, Pademangan 10 units, Penjaringan nine units and Kelapa Gading four units.

"Residents who need this assistance are sick, disabled and elderly. Hopefully this wheelchair assistance can lighten their burden," he added.

Rizqon explained that residents who need it can apply directly to his party, by bringing a certificate of incapacity from the RT and RW. Later, his party will send officers to check directly at residents' homes, so that the distribution of this aid is right on target.

"This program will continue in stages until the end of the year. Distribution of 100 additional wheelchair units will be in the third quarter," he continued.

One of residents who received the assistance, Moh Ardiansyah (23), who lives at Kalibaru, Cilincing Sub-district, thanked the sub-agency for providing assistance freely.

"It's useful for me, especially for my daily life," he admitted.
