TBC Alert Village in Johar Baru Prioritizes Four RWs

Johar Baru Sub-district Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Tuesday (5/25), declared TBC Alert Village at RPTRA Pulo Gandul, RT 05/13, Tanah Tinggi Urban Village. Four RWs in Johar Baru Sub-district will be early priority area.

Johar Baru Sub-district's Puskesmas Administration Head, Melda Agustina, said the launching of TBC Alert Village is to respond Central Jakarta Mayor's instruction. This program is aimed to handle tuberculosis case in four urban villages in Johar Baru Sub-district.

"We're glad since civil servant and residents have strong commitment to handle TBC case in Johar Baru," she said.

Melda explained the number of TBC case in all area of Johar Baru Sub-district starting from January to May 2024 reached 1,405 cases with 108 new cases.

Technically, Melda added, TBC Alert Village will involve health office, TBC cadre and cross sector personnel. Not only providing medical treatment, the movement will also carry out data collection, campaigns and education on TB eradication in the community.

As for the early step, TBC Alert Village will be prioritized to RW 09 of Tanah Tinggi Urban Village, RW 01 Johar Baru Urban Village, RW 01 Kampung Rawa Urban Village, and RW 05 Galur Urban Village.

"There will be a competition for those four RWs of the best handling," she added.

Galur Urban Village Secretary, Nurpandi, explained the characteristic of Johar Baru Sub-district are densely populated areas. In fact, there are a number of residents' houses that do not have access to sunlight with inadequate environmental sanitation.

"We appreciated this program and hopefully TBC case can be handled fully," he admitted.
