The North Jakarta Youth and Sports Sub-agency has kicked off the Folk Sports Festival 2024 at the Semper Multipurpose Building, West Semper Urban Village, Koja, Thursday (6/27). This annual routine agenda will last until August 1.

It is a forum for social interaction, creativity, and friendship between residents. Hopefully, the same event could continue every year and be even more lively.
North Jakarta Youth and Sports Sub-agency Acting Head, Joko Margo Santoso added this sports festival was to promote sports as a healthy lifestyle and a place to develop oneself, as well as strengthen ties of friendship between residents.
"There is only one sport contested, namely Kincir-Kincir Creative Gymnastics. The participants come from 31 urban villages throughout North Jakarta. Each urban village sent seven people as representatives," he explained.
He explained what was assessed in this competition was movement, cohesiveness, enthusiasm, neatness, and togetherness. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners would get prizes and trophies. Later on, the champion from each sub-district would be sent to take part in a similar competition at the provincial level.
"Hopefully, it can run smoothly, all participants are enthusiastic, and we get the best participants for North Jakarta," he added.
One of the representatives from RW 02 Semper Barat Urban Village, Fatmawati (38), admitted he was very excited to compete in this year's sports festival. She was optimistic that her team could win first place and represent North Jakarta at the provincial level.
"This competition is our motivation to live a healthy life, I'm optimistic that we can win this event," he concluded.
