16 Firetrucks Handle Fire at Petamburan V

As many as 16 firetrucks with 64 personnel of Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency handled fire at densely population area on Jalan Petamburan V, RT 08/08 Petamburan Urban Village Tanah Abang, Thursday (7/4).

It was allegedly caused by electrical short circuit

Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Asril Rizal, said his side received report at 11:34 AM then directly deployed personnel to handle the fire.

Personnel arrived at 11:37 AM, he added, and directly extinguished the fire. Cooling process was started at 12:32 PM.

"The fire was handled fully at 12:43 PM," he said.

The fire incident caused a two-story house burnt down. The area affected by the fire reached around 60 square meters.

"It was allegedly caused by electrical short circuit," he added.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Fire Handling and Rescue Section Head, Ahmad Syaiful, stated there is no death victim caused by the incident. However, one resident suffered burns while attempting to extinguish the initial fire.

"The incident made two heads of families with six people had to lose their homes," he closed.
