Bank DKI - KPAP Distributes Nutrition and Food Assistance to Dozens of Children Living with HIV

Bank DKI Peduli's CSR program collaborates with the Jakarta AIDS Commission (KPAP) to provide assistance in the form of nutrition and basic necessities to 80 children living with HIV (ADHIV)

The assistance was distributed at the UPT Center for Women and Children Protection (PPPA) Jakarta, precisely in front of the Jakarta KPAP Office, LPMJ Building, Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, involving Bank DKI, BUMD Development Agency, Health Agency (Dinkes), Social Welfare Bureau, KPAP, NGO Forum, Representatives from NGOs receiving assistance.

The nutritional support and basic necessities provided were UHT chocolate/full cream 200 milliliters (one box containing 24 pieces), five kilograms of rice, Scott's Emulsion Multivitamin 400 milliliters, sauce, soy sauce, cooking oil, sugar, syrup, sardines, children's biscuits, and eggs.

PT Bank DKI's Corporate Communications Division Head, Fakhrurroji stated that besides basic food assistance, 80 ADHIV people also received budget support by Rp 50,000,000 from Bank DKI to purchase nutrition.

He explained that providing this assistance is in line with Bank DKI's commitment as a financial institution that is not oriented only towards profit, but towards the aspect of community empowerment that cared about children both in terms of health and education.

"In 2024, we also participate in many stunting prevention programs, as well as other social assistance and support, including for people with disabilities. Hopefully, this assistance can provide maximum benefits and that our existence can always make a positive contribution to Jakarta residents," he expressed, Monday (7/22).

Jakarta KPAP's Support and Service Section Head, Taufik Alief Fuad said efforts to reduce the incidence of HIV are not easy, there are challenges and obstacles in preventing and overcoming it.

Hence, it was necessary to harmonize achieving the end of AIDS by 2027 as a target for Jakarta through pentahelix collaboration (government, business world, academics, media, and society).

"It is urgently needed to achieve 95-95-95 and the ultimate goal of achieving the Three Zeroes, namely zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS related deaths, and zero discrimination," he expressed.

He explained his collaborative assistance encourages the movement to care for ADHIV as a motivation to live a healthier and better life by providing nutrition and basic necessities so that children become quality future generation candidates.

From this support for providing nutritional needs for ADHIV, things that are hoped for in the future include: the implementation of BUMD support through improving nutrition as an effort to make children living with HIV healthy, the involvement of the BUMD business world, the availability of sustainable allocation of nutrition funds from BUMD and CSR in meeting the needs of children with HIV, thus the hope of ADHIV can continue to live healthy and be healthy. qualified future generation candidates.

"This assistance can increase awareness, support and solidarity care for ADHIV, thus it can improve the quality of children affected by HIV through providing nutritional support as a motivational boost to live healthier lives, as well as improving the quality of life of HIV-infected children and children affected by HIV through providing nutritional assistance," he explained.

The following NGOs supporting children received nutritional assistance: NGO Karisma Foundation for 13 children, NGO Lentera Anak Pelangi for 31 children, North Jakarta NGO PKBI for 2 children, NGO Bandungwangi Foundation for 2 children, NGO Kusuma Buana Foundation for 2 children, and NGO Mutiara Foundation Maharani for 30 children.

Children living with HIV need to pay attention to nutrition for their bodies, as it is related to the body's immune system and also the treatment process, the body will experience changes.
