Bank DKI Launches Hydroponic Garden at RPTRA Cibubur

Bank DKI consistently demonstrates its commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the implementation of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program with the inauguration of the Hydroponic Garden at the Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) Cibubur, East Jakarta.

Bank DKI Director, Agus H Widodo, said the inauguration of the hydroponic garden is a continuation of the Bank DKI's TJSL Program which uses an ecopreneurship approach, namely the Jakarta Hydroponic Cooperative (JAKONIK).

The Hydroponic Garden program at RPTRA Cibubur is an effort to grow the community's economy by increasing environmentally based food security in the surrounding area.

"Bank DKI has a special focus on CSR initiatives that aim to empower local communities and provide a positive impact on the community welfare and improvement of life quality," he said, Sunday (7/28).

He added that hydroponic garden is a form of Bank DKI support, especially in several points of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation, namely, ending poverty in all forms everywhere, creating conditions without hunger, and increasing sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.

"JAKONIK program provides training and mentoring for members to maximize harvest result and manage hydroponic businesses from upstream to downstream with the scope of roles as a hydroponic marketing center, hydroponic business mentoring center, education service provider, provider of facilities and infrastructure such as fertilizers, seeds and equipment," he added.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, stated JAKONIK is a form of Bank DKI's commitment to the principles of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

As Bank DKI's flagship CSR, he continued, JAKONIK is designed to provide significant benefits to the surrounding community by improving the life quality of the community through the local economy.

"The success of JAKONIK is expected to help reduce social disparities and improve the overall quality of life," he stated.

As for information, the Bank DKI Hydroponic Garden Program is one of the TJSL programs that has been consistently implemented since 2017 and is the result of collaboration between Bank DKI and a number of resident communities.

Previously, the DKI Bank Hydroponic Garden TJSL Program had been implemented in 10 locations, namely the Jatinegara Kaum Flats, KS Tubun Flats, Jatirawasari Flats, Daan Mogot Flats, Cipinang Besar Flats, Pondok Bambu Flats, Tipar Cakung Flats, Tambora Tower Flats, Pulo Gebang Flats and Pasar Rebo Flats.

Bank DKI received awards from various institutions throughout 2024, including the Indonesia Best CSR Award 2024 and ESG Recognized Commitment for various CSR initiatives carried out consistently.
