East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar and his staff, inspected the construction of a water channel using the jacking system method on Jalan Jamboree Cibubur, Ciracas, Tuesday (8/20).
The work progress has touched 15 percent," he stated
According to him, the construction of the water channel using the jacking system method was to overcome the puddles that often occur at that location every time there is heavy rain. Traffic was experiencing disruption and drivers were forced to look for alternative routes in nearby locations.
"This is to overcome puddles as high as 50 to 80 centimeters at that location every time it rains," he expressed.
Anwar Hands Over Aid to SDN Pondok Bambu 01He was optimistic that the construction of a channel using a jacking system can overcome inundation, as the volume and discharge of water that will enter the Rawa Dongkal Reservoir area has been measured.
"It is targeted to be completed by the end of this November," he explained.
East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency's Development Section Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri added the work has been ongoing since early August.
According to him, the jacking system was implemented to minimize the impact of construction because it does not take up much space for excavation. So, traffic could still pass, even though there is infrastructure work.
He mentioned the jacking pipe that will be installed for this channel is 370 meters long, starting from the corner near the steel shop to SMPN 147.
The materials used U-Ditch 150x150x120 centimeters, box culvert measuring 120x110 x100 centimeters, U-Ditch measuring 80x80x120 centimeters.
"Hope it can finish on the target," he stressed.
Of the total length of 370 meters of pipe that must be installed, 220 meters are ready for drilling and installation. The pipe was planted to six meters deep.
As planned, on August 24, excavation construction would be executed on Jalan SMPN 147. So far, there are no technical problems because the cable utilities can still be resolved.
