E. Jakarta PMI Provides Assistance to Fire Survivors in Makasar

The East Jakarta Branch Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), provided assistance to fire survivors on Jalan Kerja Bakti 1, RT 02/04, Makasar Urban Village, Tuesday (8/27). The fire that hit a resident's house occurred at 8.28 AM.

Hopefully, it can lighten their burden

East Jakarta PMI's Public Relations and Communication Section Head, Agus Bastian said seven aid items were symbolically handed over to Makasar Urban Village Head, Nasrudin, and forwarded to affected residents.

"Hopefully, it can lighten their burden," he expressed.

He explained the seven items of aid provided were each one basic food package, one hygiene kit package, one family kit package, one mat, and one tarpaulin.

Operation Section Head, Abdul Wahid explained the fire was allegedly triggered by electrical short circuit.

During the incident, residents had time to break down the doors and windows of the house that was being left by its owner.

To put out the flames, five fire engines and 15 personnel were immediately sent to the scene.

"They managed to control it within 30 minutes. No casualties in the incident," he concluded.
