Traffic Diversion Applied during Pope Francis' Visit to Jakarta

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is about to implement traffic diversion on several roads in connection with the Visit of Pope Francis from September 3 to 6, 2024.

Pope Francis is also planned to visit the Cathedral Church on September 4, 2024, at 4 PM until finished

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said Pope Francis is scheduled to visit the State Palace on September 4, 2024, from 9 AM until finished.

According to him, Pope Francis would depart from the Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy in Jakarta) located on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to head to State Palace located on Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara.

"Pope Francis is also planned to visit the Cathedral Church on September 4, 2024, at 4 PM until finished. Pope Francis will depart from the Apostolic Nunciature located on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to head to Cathedral Church on Jalan Katedral," he expressed, Monday (9/2).

He explained he will also visit the Istiqlal Mosque on September 5, 2024, at 8:30 AM until finished. He will depart from the Apostolic Nunciature located on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to head to Istiqlal Mosque on Jalan Katedral.

Further, he was scheduled to hold a Mass at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. Then depart from the Apostolic Nunciature to head to Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

"Therefore, traffic diversion will be implemented situationally to support Pope Francis' visit activities," he explained.

Here is the traffic diversion for Pope Francis' visit to Cathedral Church on September 4, 2024, starting at 4 PM and his visit to Istiqlal Mosque on September 5, 2024 starting at 8.30 AM:

a. Traffic from South (Bundaran HI, Tanah Abang, Kebon Sirih, Budi Kemuliaan) to East (Senen Station), the motorists can pass through Jalan Thamrin on the west side - Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat on the west side - Jalan Majapahit - Jalan Juanda - Jalan Pos - Jalan Gunung Sahari - etc

b. Traffic from East (Menteng) to West (Tanah Abang), the motorists can use Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto - Jalan Wahid Hasyim - Jalan Mas Mansyur - et

During the Great Mass at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on September 5, 2024, starting at 3.30 PM until finished:

a. Traffic from South (Cipete) to West (Slipi) or North (Monas), the motorists can use Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Arteri Pondok Indah - turn at U-Turn in front of Gandaria City - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Tentara Pelajar - etc

b. Traffic from North (Harmoni) to South (Blok M), the motorists can use Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat - Jalan Budi Kemuliaan - Jalan Abdul Muis - Jalan Fahrudin - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Penjernihan - Jalan Pejompongan - Jalan Tentara Pelajar - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Kebayoran Baru-Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Panglima Polim - etc
