Jakarta Woman's Basketball Team Beats East Java to Win Gold Medal

The Jakarta Woman's Basketball team beat East Java with score 77-56 at PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatera 2024. This achievement adds the gold medal for Jakarta contingent for sure, Tuesday (9/10).

This victory also further strengthens the dominance of the Jakarta women's basketball team in the PON event.

Jakarta women's basketball team played aggressively ad immediately dominated the game since the beginning. They managed to build a significant score advantage with neat attack and solid defense. Jakarta team continued to press and it made East Java team difficult to catch up.

Jakarta Targets to Win Two Gold Medals from Tennis

Jakarta women's basketball team played more freely and calmly throughout the match since they led the score. They remained focused on maintaining the rhythm of the game and controlling the tempo. Meanwhile, East Java tried hard to get score but it was not easy to penetrate Jakarta team's defense.

Jakarta Youth and Sport Agency Head, Andri Yansyah, appreciated the clam and focused play shown by the team. He expected this impressive performance to be followed by the men's team who will also face East Java.

"They played calmly, focused and concentrated, but had such tremendous power that they were far ahead of the team from East Java," he said.

This victory was greeted enthusiastically by Jakarta supporters who attended the Harapan Bangsa Sports Hall. Andri hopes that this result can motivate other teams to continue to give their best and bring more medals for the Jakarta contingent.
